Tens of thousands of Hindu devotees in northern Uttar Pradesh state are celebrating the snake festival, an ancient tradition also known as ‘Nag Panchami’, to seek blessings for their families.
Snake charmers have been sitting outside temples as devotees queue up to offer milk to the serpent gods and seek their blessings.
