Famous world boxing champion Floyd Joy Mayweather has concluded arrangements for his hospitality tour of two West African countries, Nigeria and Ghana this June.

The undefeated champion in the welterweight category said that the Africa tour which is stipulated to kick off from June 12 to 14 will include Lagos, Anambra State and Abuja after which the next port of call will be Accra, Ghana.

Reports say that the tour is part of his corporate social responsibility towards the people of African descent with a health initiative tagged: “Boxing meningitis away from Africa”. Local media in Ghana have also added that Mayweather is expected to pay a courtesy call on the President Nana Akufo-Addo and also attend a boxing event at the Bukom Boxing Arena. He is also expected to headline a dinner event to wrap up his tour. This will be the pound to pound boxer’s second trip to the continent, the first having been to South Africa back in 2014.
