Newcastle United have confirmed the permanent signing of Ghana international Christian Atsu from Chelsea on a four-year deal for a fee understood to be £6.2m.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at St. James’ Park, and made 32 league appearances, scoring five goals in the process.
Atsu played a key part in Newcastle’s promotion campaign into the premier league.
He joined Chelsea from Porto in 2013, but left having made no appearance.
He has so far played 42 times for Ghana.
Previously, he had stints at Vitesse, Everton, Bournemouth and Malaga.
