Toumba Diakite, arrested on December 16 in Senegal has been extradited to Guinea, according to Commander Aboubakar Sidiki Diakite
The military doctor, also aide of former head of military junta, Moussa Dadis Camara is currently in a high security prison in Conakry.
‘‘The accused was picked up as he alighted from a military plane at the airport walkway and was escorted under tight security towards the Maison Centrale prison in Conakry.” according to sources .
Diakite’s lawyer in Dakar, Baba Diop has criticized the manner in which his client is being handled by security officers.
Targeted by an international arrest warrant, Toumba Diakité disguised his identity, according to the Senegalese security and military forces.
He is accused of involvement in the September 28, 2009 massacre in a stadium in Conakry where many lost their lives.
At least 157 people were killed and 109 women violated in the stadium and surrounding areas, according to the international commission of investigation of the United Nations.
