This week’s segment on culture is dedicated to women.
Not just any women , African women who have chosen to promote and preserve the African cultural heritage through their art works.
Let’s discover two typical personalities.
They are both Nigerians but from two different generations.
The first, Nike Davies Okundaye grew up and lives in Nigeria and she wants to continue traditional practices that are lost.
The second, is a Nigerian in the diaspora she grew up and lives in England and wants to keep the link with the land of her ancestors through her art works.
So , for these two women, these are artistic careers, but with a political message because each in their own way, are really working to preserve African heritage despite the uniformization of the world and modernism.
