Andre Villas Boas is the new coach of Chinese club Shangai SIPG which describes him as the leading young manager in European football, with a huge amount of passion and coaching experience.
39-year old Villas Boas who comes from Portugal replaces Swedish born Sven Goran Erikson.
His contract was concluded on Friday.
Sources close to him say his annual salary is around 13.6 million dollars.
“Ofcourse I hope to achieve the objective of the club whose goal is to win the Chinese championship., the coach said during his first press conference.
In order to achieve this goal, the Chinese club is disbursing about 55 million euros to recruit Brazilian internation Hulk.
Villas Boas coached FC Porto in Portugal, Chelsea and Totteham in England as well as Zenit Saint Petersburg in the Russian championship.
Team officials say they are convinced the presence of the new coach will unearth the potentials of its young talents.
