Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has been handed the European Golden Boot award for being the top scorer in top European leagues for the year 2015/2016.
The Uruguay international hit forty goals in the year under review. The award ceremony was held in Antigua Fabrica Estrella Damm. Suarez’s family were in attendance, his children Delfina and Benjamin handed over the award to him in the presence of his wife Sofia.
His kids were also presented with miniature trophies by the organizers.

Accompanying him were some of his Barcelona team mates like Iniesta, Messi, Mascherano and Busquets. He dedicated the award to his team mates and predicted that if he fails to win it next time around, it will be won by either Neymar or Messi.
He has previously won the award in the 2013/2014 season when he was with English Premier League side Liverpool, scoring 31 goals that season. Suarez scored 40 La Liga goals, five more than last year’s winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
