UCL round up: Aubameyang and Mahrez on target, Madrid wins big, Buffon stars

Two African players were on target in the UEFA Champions League fixtures played on Tuesday night. Real Madrid were the biggest winners on the night and Juventus has two players who starred to turn around their evening.

The first African player to score was Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, the Gabonese who hit the target with 9 minutes of Dortmund’s fixture with Sporting Club of Portugal. The German side went 2 up through Julian Weigl in the 43th minutes before the hosts pulled one back.

English Premier league champions, Leicester City won at home against FC Copenhagen and the only goal of the fixture that came in the 40th minute was scored by Riyad Mahrez. The Algerian has thus scored three goals in three UEFA CL fixtures. His side sit top of the table with 9 points and they have yet to concede a goal.

There were two draws, one all between CSKA Moscow and Monaco and a goalless draw between Leverkusen and Tottenham Hotspurs. All other games ended with one goal difference.

Defending UCL champions, Real Madrid were the biggest winners on the night hitting 5 goals past Legia. Bale on 16 minutes. Jodlowiec scored an own goal to make it 2 to Madrid on 19 minutes.

Asensio, Lucas Vazquez and Morata all got on the score sheet with Radovic scoring the only goal for Legia Warsaw.

Italian giants, Juventus had their ace goalie Gianluigi Buffon and Juan Cuadrado to thank for their victory on the night. They were reduced to 10 man after a red card but Buffon save from the spot before Cuadrado struck the winner against French side Olympic Lyonnais.
