Former Cameroon international and captain of the Indomitable Lions, Rigobert Song, is confirmed to be out of coma and responding to treatment as he awaits medical evacuation to Paris in France.
Song suffered a cerebral vascular accident on Sunday at his residence in Odza neighborhood in the Cameroonian capital Yaounde.
The Director of the Yaounde Emergency Centre where he was, confirmed he woke up from coma on Monday night and he his breathing himself without oxygen.

“We can say that his condition is acceptable. He breathes spontaneously (and is no longer under oxygen). Cerebral bleeding is under control,” Louis Joss Bitang to Mafok told the state radio.
A medical evacuation is being prepared to transfer Song to La Pitié Salpêtrière hospital in Paris in France on Tuesday evening for further treatment, he added.
Rigobert Song, who is the current coach of the local Indomitable Lions side, has played in eight African cup of nations for Cameroon and won two titles, in 2000 and 2002.
