The army stated that the wanted notice for Salkida along with one Ahmed U. Bolori and Aisha Wakil was to assist with investigation into the whereabouts of the Chibok girls. The notice came after the recent release of a video showing abducted Chibok schoolgirls in custody of Boko Haram.

Salkida had denied being on the run and openly stated that he would avail himself to the security forces as soon he returned to Nigeria. Bolori and Aisha are reported to have presented themselves to the army for questioning in Maigduguri and Abuja respectively.

The Army stated that the three individuals no doubt had contacts with the group and were bound by law to assist the Army in its work.

‘‘We are relying on the relevant laws of the land and in particular the Terrorism Prevention Act 2011 (as amended) where Nigerians could be punished for failure to disclose information about terrorists or terrorists activities,’‘ an army statement said.
