Leicester City, the English Premier League (PL) champions have confirmed that their Algerian international, Riyad Mahrez, has signed a new four year deal to stay with the club.

Leicester City Football Club is delighted to announce that Riyad Mahrez has signed a new contract, committing his future to the Foxes until June, 2020.
The midfielder joined Claudio Ranieri’s side from Le Havre in the French second tier in January 2014. In two-and-a-half-years, Mahrez has become an integral part of the club and of the Algeria national team. The club described him as ‘‘one of the most feared attacking players in Europe.’‘
He joins the likes of Wes Morgan, Jamie Vardy, goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and Andy King in signing new deals with the Club this summer, bolstering Claudio Ranieri’s squad for the Club’s first ever Premier League title defence. The only high profile Leicester player to leave the champions is French international, N’gole Kante.
Leicester’s title defence got off to a bad start as they suffered a 2 – 1 defeat to Hull City on the opening day of the new league season. They are hoping to make amends when Arsenal visit the King Power stadium for their second game. Arsenal beat the champions home and away last season. The Emirates stadium outfit also lost their opening day fixture by 3 – 4 against Liverpool.
