US presidential hopeful Donald Trump has likened his Democrat rival to the German Chancellor suggesting the two have similar migration policies.
Trump was speaking at a rally in the swing state of Ohio.
“In short, Hillary Clinton wants to be America’s Angela Merkel (German Chancellor), and you know what a disaster this massive immigration has been to Germany and the people of Germany. Crime has risen to levels that no one thought they would ever, ever see. It is a catastrophe,” Trump said.
In another campaign rally of Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden dismissed Trump’s comments as anti-constitutional and populist.
“Look. Trump’s ideas are not only profoundly wrong, they’re very dangerous and they’re very un-American. They reveal a profound ignorance of our constitution. It’s a recipe for playing into the hands – and I will end this because you’ve been standing so long – it’s a recipe for playing into the hands of terrorists and their propaganda,” Joe Biden said.
US presidential poll trackers suggest Clinton is way ahead of her rival Trump in the race for the White House.
