According to Kenyan officials, John Anzrah , a sprint coach, gave a urine sample and even signed documents as he impersonated Ferguson Rotich, an 800m athlete.

The International Olympic Committee(IOC) said it had launched disciplinary proceedings against him.

“The IOC has immediately created a disciplinary commission to look into the matter with regard to the coach and the athlete concerned,” said an IOC spokesperson.

Rotich, who finished fourth in the World Championships in Beijing last year, is set to race in the heats this Friday.

Anzrah, becomes the second Kenyan athletics official to be dismissed from the Rio games, after Michael Rotich an Olympics team manager was sent home last weekend, following fresh doping allegations after a media investigation.

Kenya is under close scrutiny by the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) following a series of doping allegations.
