A Moroccan Olympic boxer was arrested on charges he sexually assaulted two women in the Olympic Village, Rio de Janeiro police said on Friday.
Hassan Saada, a 22-year-old competing in the 81 kilogram category, was arrested on Friday morning after allegations that he assaulted two maids who worked at the Village.
“On August 3, two victims came to the police station, two cleaners that work at the Olympic Village, claiming that they had suffered sexual assault by the boxer,” said Carolina Salomao Albuquerque, the chief of Rio’s 42nd police station.
“They (the two maids) claim that he touched the leg of one them and pushed her up against the wall and the other claims he touched her breast,” she said.
Albuquerque added that Saada is under arrest for up to 15 days while the police carry out their investigation.
