Burkina Faso military coup investigation continues

Authorities in Burkina Faso are reviewing the ongoing investigations on a short lived coup and also those relating to the death former revolutionary leader, Thomas Sankara, who was murdered nearly 3 decades ago.

The military reveals it is sending some DNA samples of the former President to Spain to seek a second opinion.

“DNA samples were taken to Spain and around 13 families agreed to submit the samples to the authorities.The Burkina Faso government has agreed to pay for it,” said Alioune Zanre, high ranking government official.

With regards to the failed coup that occurred in the country in September last year , the Burkinabe military court announced new elements in the investigations shedding more light on the case of former Prime Minister, General Yacouba Isaac Zida.

While investigation to the coup continue ,it is believed that more will be revealed as the military prosecutor says that they do not “exclude the possibility” of charging more suspects in the coming days.
