Leicester City’s star player, Riyad Mahrez, is rumored to have accepted an offer to join English Premier League rivals, Arsenal, according to Eurosport France. According to the channel Leicester is likely to make some 50 million euros from the move.

The Algerian international who is the current best player according to the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) would be the second highly rated Leicester player to quit the camp of the champions.

French international N’golo Kante, Mahrez’s colleague in the Championship winning team of 2015/2016 season also joined Chelsea this week.

Earlier this week, his manager Italian Claudio Ranieri told Sky Sports that the market was over for the signing of his star player because the 25-year old had expressed his desire to stay at the King Power stadium.

Arsenal had tried to sign Leicester’s Jaime Vardy, but the move failed to materialize and the England striker signed a new deal with the club.

Arsenal placed second to Leicester in the last season with Tottenham coming in third. Leicester have signed Nigerian international Ahmed Musa from CSKA Moscow, their biggest signing as they head for tittle challenge.
