Senegalese forward, Demba Ba, on July 17 suffered a horrific injury. He broke his leg whiles playing in the Chinese Super League’s Shanghai derby on Sunday.
The former Chelsea and Newcastle striker, who has scored 14 goals in 18 appearances for Shanghai Shenhua this season broke his leg in a tangle with a Shanghai SIPG FC defender.
The 31-year-old was taken off on the 70th minute mark as he writhed in pain. His team went on to win the game by 2-1 after almost 10 minutes of injury time.
In the wake of the injury, his former teams and some colleagues took to twitter to condole with the player, wishing him well as he heads for treatment.

Manchester United’s Luke Shaw suffered a leg break in a match in seasons past. Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey was also a victim of a leg break. Both players have however recovered from the injuries. Ex Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva also broke a leg in 2014.
