Carlo Ancelotti led training for the first time in his new role as head coach of Bayern Munich on Monday.
He was given a welcome surprise when he arrived for his first day as his predecessor Pep Guardiola left the him message wishing him well.
The multiple Champions League winner signed a three-year deal to replace Pep Guardiola and the club’s fans look forward to his leadership.
“I am anxious to find out how Ancelotti is,” said Bayern fan Sebastian Konjacek, adding “as I’m hearing it, he is more approachable, a little better than Guardiola.”
Fan Georg Gantner said that “with his human touch he should approach fans more. With Pep Guardiola we never had a close relationship except maybe on Marienplatz.
“I don’t think Bayern will be champion every time over the next three years but I am convinced we will make the Champions League in the next three years. I’m sure about that”, said Thomas Kapartis, a fan.
Ancelotti won the Champions League twice with AC Milan and once with Real Madrid while also winning a string of other titles with Chelsea, Paris St Germain and Juventus.
Ancelotti’s first league game at Bayern comes against Werder Bremen during the opening weekend of the Bundesliga season on August 26.
