Paris Saint-Germain defender Serge Aurier has been arrested following an argument with a police officer in Paris.
The footballer reportedly insulted the officer and “hit him on the chest” after a night out with his friends at a Paris night club near the Champs Elysee.
His arrest was disclosed by a police source who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to speak to the public.
Aurier, an Ivorian defender, is widely considered one of the best right backs in Europe.
He has repeatedly found himself in trouble with his football club, having been suspended earlier this season.
The footballer was suspended in February after he made derogatory comments about his coach and some of his team mates at Paris Saint Germain in a video published on social media.
He later accepted the sanctions and apologised to his coach, teammates and fans for his misconduct.
Aurier has made 31 appearances for Ivory Coast.
