Guinea
Football governing body FIFA has appointed a normalisation committee to take charge of Guinea’s Football Federation (FGF).
The body acted following the “internal wrangles affecting the FGF that have halted all football competitions in Guinea,” it said.
The committee, whose members will be selected by FIFA and its African component Confederation of African Football is tasked to organise the FGF elections by February 28, 2017.
The challenges have weighed heavily on Guinea’s campaign for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
They are third in their group behind Zimbabwe and Swaziland.
Guinea are also hosts of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
