Madagascar
Madagascar’s new PM Olivier Solonandrasana has promised to eliminate corruption in the country.
Solonandrasana was installed Wednesday and stressed that the anti-corruption drive will help rescue the country.
“I have always been a promoter of integrity and transparency. My profound wish is to ensure that this fight against corruption should become a reality in Madagascar,” Prime Minister Olivier Solonandrasn said.
The new prime minister was appointed two days after the nation was plunged into confusion as the former prime minister Jean Ravelonarivo denied resignation claims.
News of the previous premier’s resignation had been announced by the presidency of the Republic in a statement on Sunday.
Madagascar has been struggling to rebuild itself since a 2009 coup which scared off donors and foreign investment.
