Nigeria
The fuel shortage in Nigeria still lingers on despite promises from authorities that the situation would improve.
Long queues continue to be seen at major filling stations across the country, with motorists now spending between three and eight hours from a previous 10 to 48 hours in search of fuel.
A driver who spoke to AFP described the situation as a “serious big scarcity”. He said “fuel is around but we are still queuing. We don’t know what is wrong”.
A truck driver who is also affected by the shortage said he is unable to make as many trips as he used to.
“This our business, if there is fuel we go like five times a day. Now, when there is no fuel, we go once and we go to the filling station to queue and spend the day at the filling station”.
