Kenya
Kenya is at the edge of missing a second deadline imposed by the World Anti-Doping Agency after its parliament went on a month long recess without passing the crucial legislation.
Kenya is now set to miss a second WADA ban that expires in a few hours. The country’s authority are now fast tracking the bill to be passed before the end of the day.
Failure to meet the deadline, Kenya could be declared non-compliant with WADA requirement. The country is now on locked ends to miss the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro just four months away.
Previously, Kenya had suffered a big blow after 40 of its athletes were banned after the 2012 London Olympics that also saw four senior track and field officials under investigation by the IAAF on claims of subversion of the anti-doping process.
Kenya is dominant at distance running and topped the medal table at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing with seven gold medals.
