ICC 'frees' Kenya's Deputy President Ruto and journalist Arap Sang

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has terminated the cases against Kenya’s deputy president William Ruto and journalist Joshua Arap Sang.

Judges Chile Eboue-Osuji, Olga Herrera Carbuccia and Robert Fremr have ruled that the Mr Ruto and Sang have no case to answer even though the prosecution can appeal the decision.

Following the ruling, the court released a video saying by a majority decision, the judges had decided to terminate the cases.

The pair were facing crimes against humanity arising from the 2007/2008 post-election violence that left some 1,113 people dead and more than 500,000 internally displaced.
