At least 21 people have been arrested in Mali in connection with an attack on the Azalai Nord Sud Hotel which now serves as the headquarters of an European Union military training operation.
Two people were arrested and one of the assailants killed during the foiled gun attack in the country’s capital, Bamako.

The EU mission with nearly 600 personnel was deployed as part of efforts to stabilize the country as well as train security forces.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the latest attack.
Mali and other neighbouring West African nations have increasingly been targeted by Islamist groups, some affiliated with al-Qaeda.
