The Barclays Premier Trophy is on a tour in South Africa ahead of the BPL Live fan park event to be held in Cape Town at Camps Bay High School, between March 19 and 20.
The trophy was the centre of attention in Khayelitsha’s Football for Hope Centre near Cape Town last Friday as Barclays reaffirmed its financial commitment to the Grassroot Soccer (GRS) South Africa Coach Development Programme run in conjunction with Barclays Spaces for Sports, according to KickOff.
Two of South Africa’s greatest Premier League players, Quinton Fortune and Lucas Radebe, will join other Barclays Premier League legends like Peter Schmeichel, Robbie Fowler and Shaun Goater in giving fans the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of their heroes, reports The Pundits.
BPL Live Cape Town will be the third staging of the football roadshow that started in South Africa in April 2014 at Zoo Lake Sports Club, Johannesburg, for a memorable inaugural event.
In December the same year BPL Live went to India, where more than 30,000 fans flocked to Mumbai.
With a capacity of 15,000 visitors at Camps Bay High School and nine Barclays Premier League clubs flying over to take part in the event, BPL Live Cape Town promises to be another success.
