Cameroon international and Malaga FC goalkeeper, Idriss Carlos kameni, underwent successful surgery on Monday. The 32-year-old suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee and was admitted at the El Ángel Hospital in Spain.
Information about his surgery was published on the club’s official website. “The operation lasted about 45 minutes and was conducted by Dr. Jose Manuel Fernandez Medina, coordinator of Trauma Hospital El Angel,” malagacf.com stated.
Idriss Carlos Kameni, who spent the night in the hospital, is expected to be released on Tuesday, according to the same website. “His return to the field will depend on his recovery,” it added.
Kameni suffered the knee injury in the 37th minute of Malaga’s La Liga match against Deportivo Coruna on Saturday.
With this injury, the indomitable lion will miss the double fixture against South Africa in late March as part of the AFCON 2017 qualifiers. At the club level, he has been replaced by Mexican Memo Ochoa.
