Police in Ghana have arrested 5 people, two female and three males in connection with the murder of an opposition Member of Parliament, MP.
The deceased, Joseph Boakye Danquah- Adu, who was murdered in his home on Tuesday, was the MP for Abuakua North constituency on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party, the country’s biggest opposition party and a former Deputy Minister of Women and Children’s Affairs during Former President Kufuor’s administration.
The Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Afia Tenge told a news conference, the five arrested includes a private security guard in the house and other residents.
The deceased was the son of a Ghanaian statesman and historian, JB Danquah who played a role in Ghana’s independence struggle.
