Investigation is underway into the cause of the explosion on a passenger plane on Wednesday in mid air.
Unconfirmed reports suggest it was a bomb blast. But Somalia’s Transport and Civil Aviation Minister,Ali Ahmed Jama, says it is early days yet to come to such a conclusion.
“The Somali police, the national intelligence agency and all relevant security agencies are investigating this incident. The Civil Aviation Authority is overseeing the investigation. We don’t want to rush into any judgment now. Let’s wait once experts have concluded the investigations,”
80 passengers and crew were on board, the Dallas flight from Mogadishu to Djibouti when the blast occured minutes after take off.
One passenger is reported to have been sucked from the cabin during the explosion.
Officials say they have found a badly burnt body 30 kilometers north of Mogadishu and suspect it could be that passenger.
