Senegalese midfielder Henri Saivet has been signed by English Premier League side, Newcastle United, on a five and a half year deal.
The 25 year old has been plying his trade with French club, Bordeaux where he was the youngest professional in the clubs history back in 2007.
Saivet said he was ecstatic to be part of the English team.
‘‘I am really proud to be able to play for this Club, and I am really excited at the challenge that lies ahead,’‘ Saivet was quoted in the club’s website.

“Henri is someone the club has been watching for a while, and he has developed into an excellent player at Bordeaux, ‘’ said Steve McClaren, the Newcastle United head coach.
“This is someone with a very good mentality, who is a tough player and a winner. Those are key qualities you need in the Premier League and we are looking forward to seeing him pulling on the Newcastle United shirt,” McClaren added.

Saivet has made 178 appearance in all competitions and scored 23 goals while at Bordeaux. He has represented France at at under-16, under-17, under-18 and under-21 level.
He played for Senegal from 2013 and has won nine senior caps for the West African country.
