A millitary camp in the Libyan city of Zliten was hit by a truck bomb on Thursday, January 7.
At least 65 people have been killed after a truck bomb targeted a police training base in the western Libyan city of Zliten, reports say.
Zliten mayor, Miftah Lahmadi, confirmed at least 65 have been killed in the attack. Local media reported that hundreds of recruits were outside performing morning exercises when the centre was targeted.
The explosion occurred at 08h00 local time and local media in Zliten said the attack struck the Al-Jahfal training camp.
The Misurata Central Hospital where the victims have been taken, has called on all citizens to donate blood to save the lives of those injured in the bombing.
Libyan broadcaster al-Naba television network also quoted the ministry of health of the rival rebel-led government as saying that a state of emergency had been declared, allowing hospitals in Tripoli and Misrata to receive the wounded.
