Twitter is considering extending its 140 character limit in a tweet and Direct Messages.
The CEO of Twitter and Co- founder jack Dorsey in a tweet said “we’ve spent a lot of time observing what people are doing on Twitter, and we see them taking screen shots of text and tweeting it”.
He called the current 140 character limit ‘a beautiful constraint’ that ‘inspires brevity and creativity’ but went on to acknowledge a longer text could actually not be a bad idea.

Twitter currently has 320 million active users, 80 per cent of whom are on mobile.
