Twitter is considering extending its 140 character limit in a tweet and Direct Messages.
The CEO of Twitter and Co- founder jack Dorsey in a tweet said “we’ve spent a lot of time observing what people are doing on Twitter, and we see them taking screen shots of text and tweeting it”.
He called the current 140 character limit ‘a beautiful constraint’ that ‘inspires brevity and creativity’ but went on to acknowledge a longer text could actually not be a bad idea.
“ what if that text…was actually text? Text that could be searched. Text that could be highlighted. That’s more Utility and power.” Dorsey tweeted
