Somali militants Al Shabaab have released a video using US presidential hopeful Donald Trump as part of a recruitment drive.
Trump’s plan to ban Muslims from entering the US features in many scenes in a video intended to show injustice towards members of the religion.
The film was distributed on Twitter on Friday by the Al-Kataib Media Foundation, an Islamist militant organisation

The Republican presidential candidate and businessman was featured for over 10 minutes talking of his proposed restriction on Muslims entering the US amid cheers from his supporters.
“Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on,” Trump said during one of his campaigns.
The video clip focuses on perceived injustices against Muslims and shows militant leader Anwar al-Awlaki, who was killed in a drone strike in Yemen in 2011.
It further cautioned Muslims living in the United States that they would face a choice between leaving for Islamic countries or staying at home to fight the West.
Trump’s statement to bar Muslims from entering United States has strongly been criticised by both American politicians and many world leaders partly over fears it could be used as as a propaganda by the Islamic militants
Al-Shabaab has been fighting the Somali government for a decade and have also been involved in a series of terrorism attacks in Kenya and Uganda.
